Meet the Team

Nine experts have come together for a specific purpose; to help children in need harness the power music. There are program specialists, a world renowned cellist, a Nepal expert, a few artistic bureaucrats, and a three person documentary film crew recording everything as it unfolds.

A consummate soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, conductor and teacher, his work throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia has placed Lynn in the highest echelon of today’s performing artists (website).
Helen Nightengale

  • Name: Helen Nightengale
  • Role: Foundation Vice-President & Program Specialist
Helen’s career includes concertmaster positions with the London Symphony Orchestra, LA Chamber Orchestra, LA Opera, Frankfurt Opera, and the Hamburg Philharmonic. In addition to her program and board duties, she is our executive producer for our benefit album.

Margaret Abrahams

  • Role: Program Specialist & Music Therapist
Margaret is a graduate of The Florida State University College of Music, where she studied voice and music therapy. She has had songs recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Les McCann and others and has also toured and/or recorded with artists such as Joan Baez and Joe Cocker. She is currently working on her debut album.

As an award-winning record producer of more than 80 albums over the last 45 years, Alan Abrahams has worked with some of the most notable artists, songwriters and composers in the music business and film industry, including Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Ladysmith Black Mamabazo, Taj Mahal, Phoebe Snow, and 15 chart-topping Gospel albums.

Janelle has a background in Theatrical Direction and Production, Film Studies, and professional fundraising for non-profits. Her combined knowledge of theatrical direction, detailed organization, volunteer management, and relationship building is constantly put to use in every project she works on (website).
Noam Karl

Noam is passionate about all areas of filmmaking, especially in more unconventional circumstances, when all the geekiest muscles can be flexed. Utilizing his experience in photography, editing, and art direction, he enjoys finding special details that elevate projects as a whole.

An internationally recognized arts consultant and author of Adaptistration; a weblog on orchestra management, Mr. McManus currently serves on the HEARTbeats Foundation executive committee as Secretary-Treasurer (website).
Patty Ramsey

Patty’s dual interest in psychology and theater/film making aid in making the magic that is documentary film. She is currently a behavior specialist by day, getting her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology by night, and producing theatrical productions with LucidbyProxy, and film in the time in between (website).
