You just don’t venture into an undertaking like this without expecting a few bumps in the road. Fortunately, the HEARTbeats team heading to Nepal has done a wonderful job at putting a system of redundancies and contingencies. We put one of those contingency plans into effect today after learning that one of the team’s key members and foundation board member, Neil Comess-Daniels, would be unable to attend due to an unforeseen emergency.
Although Neil will be greatly missed, we are grateful to have a wonderful replacement in music therapist, Margaret Abrahams. Fortunately, Niel and Margaret are both guitarists and when combined with Margaret’s music therapy expertise, we won’t have to alter any of the program’s lesson plans or related activities.
Now, our biggest concerns are limited to getting the extra luggage containing the film crew equipment divvied up between all of the team members and finding an acceptable iPad charger that will play nice with EmPower ports.
